A best friend and kababata dropped by at home this morning and asked me to accompany him to the office where he was assigned. He is in town to volunteer. He was one of the lawyers who were invited by the local government for the Free Legal Services, one of the events of the 69th Araw ng Compostela and 11th Buganihan Festival.

"Anhi gyud ko bay, taga compostela gud ko, atoa gud ning lungsod, adto gani ta sa ubang lungsod diri pa kaha", a remark of a true-blooded Batang Compostela. His name is Atty. Carlo Ancla, or Anlong/"Long" for short.

Anlong was among the volunteer lawyers around. I've seen lots of lawyers present, including lawyers of the Public Attorneys Office (PAO) based in Nabunturan and Atty. "Biang-biang" Bianca Cualing-Brua, an SB member of New Bataan. Atty. Jude Lopoz, a Provincial Board Member and a college classmate, was also around.

The early bird I've seen was the town's beloved Vice Mayor Atty. Reynaldo Castillo. Also, from Compostela themselves, present was the administrator of Legacy College of Compostela Atty. Joji Ancog-Casidsid, my uncle Atty. Tani Valmoria, and my presence being partner of Garcia Legal and Consultancy Firm was in representation of Atty. Mark Evarra Garcia.

Assisting the lawyers were staff of PAO Nabunturan and the team of secretariat of the Office of Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan and Office of the Vice Mayor, all of LGU Compostela.

Nothing beats the desire of volunteers. Thus, the volunteer-lawyers presence during the event is more than enough to show-- "Compostela Love Ko...Padayon sa Paglambo".
